España en Fallbrook

Our neighbors Linda and Peter invited us to a paella dinner the other night. We accepted, but I was somewhat reluctant. You see, and this may surprise you, but I am a bit of a food snob. There is nothing worse than a bad paella, or worse yet, a wimpy paella.

"Hey, if you don't like it, don't eat it," my wife said, with a look of consternation. "No, I will go," I murmured, hoping for the best, and not wanting to be "that guy."

I am pleased to say that the paella was superb, only matched by the magnificent sunset and the fabulous company.

Nothing wimpy about this dinner, maybe the best I have ever had, including in Spain, or the wonderful group either.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Oh shucks Robert, that was really a sweet glowing review of my paella and my favorite part is that I cook it out on my fire pit.
That was the first time I’ve done paella that way. The last time I did it on my fire pit in it was jambalaya. Thanks for taking pictures!

What a lovely group of friends enjoying a beautiful evening together… and the paella! …wish you had a photo of the finished dish.
