I received a text message from ATT the other day telling me that my bill was overdue. It was an 800 number. Shoot, I thought I had paid both my ATT bills but maybe I forgot. About an hour later they called me and left a recorded message saying I should call back. That I owed them upwards of four hundred bucks.
I went to their online site and strangely everything looked paid. I got another text and another call yesterday. But I noticed a small space between the AT and the second T on the phone. I called *611. I was actually all paid up. I had been spoofed.
Be very careful out there. I could have easily been had if not for a little spider sense. The criminals are getting very sophisticated.
