Leslie and I watched this favorite movie again the other night, Brassed Off, so good, so under rated. What a beautiful piece of music here, composed by the blind Spanish composer Joaquin Rodrigo. It was written after the Spanish Civil War, in Paris, both for full orchestra and guitar and also this brass version.
This movie gives you a sense of compassion for coal miners and anybody whose job and livelihood has been steamrolled by time. Great acting, Pete Postlethwaite at his best.
