Red tailed hawks feeding

I wanted to make sure that my expensive prime lens was functioning optimally so I could it out in low light this morning and put it through its paces.

This male hooded oriole agreed to pose but only after signing a contract agreeing on certain residuals. A bit onerous but grape jelly is relatively cheap.

Camera seems to be working okay now.

I drove over to the sycamore tree to check in on the red tailed mother and her two children.

A-okay there too.

Then I was lucky enough to observe some intimate feeding behavior.
