Puffed and weary

 

I am really hurting today. The left side of my face under my ear is completely swollen. I believe that it is a case of Sialadenitis.

This is an infection of the salivary gland. It just came on yesterday afternoon. 

I almost went to urgent care as it is painful. Had a tough time sleeping last night.

I called my doctor this morning. I am going to start Keflex tonight when I get home and hot compresses. 

He said that if their is a stone in the duct it might require removal by an ENT specialist.

I was worried that it could be an after effect of something stupid I did two weeks ago. I was applying the systemic insecticide for the agave snout nosed weevil.

My third application I stumbled and poured the bucket on my right foot. I changes shoes and socks but I must have absorbed the poison. Shortly thereafter I developed a rash behind my knee and on my arm.

I called poison control and was worried about further internal damage. They thought that if there were neurologic complications they would have surfaced on the first day. I have no idea but the whole episode was scary.

I think I am going to call it a day. Don't feel like working. Going to go home and chill.
