Lunar corona

Beth texted me last night and asked if I could see the moon?

I went outside and the halo was really incredible, just magnificent and farther away from the moon than I can ever recall seeing. Took up about a third of the night sky.

I wish I had brought a good camera home. Maybe I will take one home tonight and try to get a proper shot.The cell phone does not cut it.

Hopefully we will get a reoccurrence tonight. I think it has to with the amount of moisture in the atmosphere. Whatever the cause, it was really something.
