Big boffo birthday weekend

Saturday was my 64th birthday. I worked in the morning and then we went to a party in Escondido for another friend who was also having a birthday. Faro Trupiano catered it and we had a nice opportunity to hang out with his family and friends.

Afterwards we drove up to Lake Wohlford and had a short hike on the Osprey Trail. So pretty up there.

Leslie bought me dinner at Vintana later that evening.

Such a beautiful space and the food was great too. 

Definitely the best architectural setting for dining I can think of in North County. Located above the Lexus dealership, I really recommend it for the special occasions in your life.

We were both still stuffed from our afternoon repast so we split everything, a farmer's salad with strawberries, goat cheese and mandarins, an ahi dish and a bacon wrapped filet. Could not have been better.

We finished the meal with a nice little cobbler dessert. Could not have eaten another bite.

After the Gay Pride event yesterday and a quick date shake at Hadley's I drove back through San Jacinto and did a little birding.

Nothing outstanding but got a nice hike in and saw the merlin on the same branch he was [perched on the other day.

And this pretty hawk, which might be a dark morph ferruginous, will have to check with an expert.

Honestly, I got home happy but totally spent. What a day, what a weekend!
