My friend Beth is great

My friend Beth is so amazing. She never quits. She broke her arm and her leg last month. I saw her at the post box yesterday and she told me that she had just done eleven miles on the bike at the gym. She was off hiking with her poodle.

I couldn't do eleven miles on a bike right now with gravity.

Beth is a birder. I am a guy who takes pictures of birds. There is a huge difference.

And do you know what it is? I see a bird, she hears a bird.

Yesterday she said that the hooded orioles were back. She heard them, imitating their cheep.

I could no more than tell you the song of a hooded oriole from an Isley brother. But she can.

She says she has heard the black headed grosbeaks around recently too.

G-d bless her.

I put the grape jam out for the orioles this morning, just in case. Wouldn't want to keep them waiting.

Postscript: Saw my first hooded oriole of the season, a very bright colored male, 5:10 p.m. 2/27/21
