Shpilkis

Like most Americans, I view this election with a certain amount of trepidation. Most people do, no matter what side of the aisle they happen to be on. I have no idea how it will shake out and nothing would surprise me. I figure I have survived four years of this guy, who I honestly loathe and if I have to do it again I will. Sort of like doing a long stretch in prison.

But I had to get away from it all today, away from the television, the computer and the media. I drove up the east grade road of Palomar and rolled the windows down. Enjoyed the pine smell and the clean air. Hiked around a little bit.

I didn't see a lot of stuff but I did capture two golden eagles on a bough near the yellow twin water tanks.

There was a lot of brush and a lot of distance between us. I walked east in order to find a better vantage, no luck.

When I got back, my quarry had flown the coop.

Oh well.

Can't win them all.

Afterwards I drove to Santa Ysabel and went to the market, saw the locals parading around in their Trump gear and bought myself a gatorade.

Passed on the Julian apple pie, a little steep at sixteen bucks.

Lovely evening, lovely birds.

See how the rest of the night goes.
