Losing my religion?

For better or for worse, young millennials the world over appear to be losing their religion. While the numbers of churchgoing youth are still significant, in the United States there has been a 17% spread in the decreased likelihood of a person age 18-39 to go to church compared to people over 40. People may in fact be as spiritual as ever but church, synagogue and temple attendance and affiliation is down.

The very reliable and non partisan Pew Research Center has been tracking these issues for many years.

Which brings up an interesting question. What to do with these hard to use and acutely angled gable structures? Weinerschnitzels? Orange Julius? Taquerias? They are definitely not easy to repurpose. I took this picture of what was once the St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Fallbrook this morning.

I am not sure what happened to the congregation but the building is the new home of the Fallbrook Regional Health District. Perhaps the prior congregants are now meeting elsewhere. Not sure when they pulled the old cross down but it is gone although the attaching bolts are still there. I voted in this building once upon a time. Wonder if this is a harbinger of things to come?
