Cherry, cherry

Fallbrook has been known for a lot of fine produce over the years, olives, citrus, avocados and more.

It has never been a place known for cherry production. I tried to grow a stella variety cherry a few years ago but it didn't pan out for one reason or another.

A friend of mine, who likes to remain nameless, has succeeded, now has a beautiful cherry grove in town.

He grows two varieties of low chill cherry, a Royal and another whose name I did not catch.

He allowed me to pick a box yesterday and they were simply delicious. They were also organic so I was able to eat them right off the tree, at perfect ripeness.

Heaven.

Lucky you! Cherries might be my favorite fruit.
