I was just out of the car and starting my walk with Larry up to Torrey Pines Reserve when I felt the strap break on my shoulder yesterday. There was no concussion, no trauma, it just gave way. I had about five thousand dollars of lens and camera gear on the other end of the strap. Thankfully I caught it before it hit the ground. I inspected the failure carefully and it was a little square plastic part that broke.
I will never make that mistake again. Nor should you.
