Donald Trump is mad at that "little guy," Michael Bloomberg. He says that he even wants to hit him. Bloomberg had some rather rich and pithy words for the GOP nominee the other night:
"I built a business, and I didn't start it with a million-dollar check from my father," the billionaire said, referring to the money Trump's father loaned him to start his first business.
Bloomberg, who like Trump is a New York businessman and who almost threw his hat in the ring for the presidency in 2016, slammed Trump's business practices and argued that they would be dangerous to the US economy.
"Trump says he wants to run our nation like he runs his business? God help us," Bloomberg said to thunderous agreement from the crowd. "I'm a New Yorker, and I know a con when I see one."
He added: "The richest thing about Donald Trump is his hypocrisy."
Michael Bloomberg is the eighth richest man in the world with an estimated net worth of 38 billion dollars. Donald Trump is estimated to be worth about a tenth of that, although one writer thinks his real worth is far, far lower and has been sued by the Donald for saying so.
Not sure if Bloomberg wants to get in the ring with Trump (who was reportedly quite the brawler in military school) but I am pretty sure that he isn't scared of the guy in the least.
Great article at Business Insider today, Trump seems especially mad at Mike Bloomberg, and any New Yorker could tell you why.
Any New Yorker can tell you why. It's because Trump has spent decades ignoring one of the cardinal rules of being publicly rich in this town: If you must flaunt your money, then you must also give it away in large sums.Turns out that Trump is pretty stingy. While Bloomberg has already given away over $3 billion dollars, Trump has been a real tightwad. Less than 10k in seven years according to the WaPo.
If you don't, then you'll spend your life feeling like an outsider, building resentment against those who should be your set. And that's exactly what Trump has done.
"The Post contacted 167 charities searching for evidence of personal gifts from Trump in the period between 2008 and this May. The Post sought out charities that had some link to Trump, either because he had given them his foundation's money, appeared at their charity galas or praised them publicly.Trump is now backtracking on his promise to release his tax returns. Word is that he is heavily entangled with the Russians, so it is not hard to see why he is acting like Moscow's boy.
"The search turned up just one donation in that period — a 2009 gift of between $5,000 and $9,999 to the Police Athletic League of New York City.
"In all, when the $1 million gift to veterans is added to his giving through the Donald J. Trump Foundation, Trump has given at least $3.8 million to charity since 2001. That is a significant sum, although not among billionaires. For example, hedge fund titan Stanley Druckenmiller, just behind Trump on Forbes's rankings of net worth, gave $120 million to his foundation in 2013 alone."

Little Guy Bloomberg and General Allen are many, many times more credible and believable than the Trumpster. One of these days, he is going to get caught up in one of his Big Liesand he will be brought down to earth. ( God, I hope so!)
