Cortez the Killer

I think that this was my late friend Rick Griffin's favorite song. I know I always associate him with it in my mind. He loved Dylan, X, the Cult, Van Morrison, Sandy Bull, The Grateful Dead and many others but this is the song we would most often play together when he was painting in the studio. Been 23 years since Rick passed. He was a lion, a giant and I am still processing his immense artistic contribution and huge impact on my life.

All things must pass, we quickly depart our earthly abode naked to the world, with empty pockets, and hopefully leave some pleasant memories with those left behind.
