Received this note from Ted in Kauai:
This beautiful little Mejiro a.k.a. "Japanese White Eye", was chirping outside my bedroom window and caught my attention.
So
I snuck up on it with camera in hand just 7 feet away from me and
through the window screen, managed to fire away some snapshots of it
jumping around on the bush, foraging for these berries.
They are
one of the cutest birds on the island and very skitterish, making it
difficult to get close like this without a big zoom lens. The screen
acted as a filter to give it a soft look as well.
