Paul Williams Benefit in O.B.

There will be a benefit in Ocean Beach tomorrow for the family of the late Paul Williams. Paul was a man of enormous talents and gifts. He was the founder of Crawdaddy magazine, keeper of the Philip Dick archives (one of my literary heroes), brilliant writer, influential critic. The husband of the longtime local singer Cindy Lee Berryhill, he suffered early dementia after an accident and died recently at the age of 64. I dig Cindy, last time I saw her play she made a plea for combat veterans with brain injury. I met him once, held him in the highest regard. A superbrain. I plan on going.
