A missive from the retro futurist

Akaka Falls © Robert Sommers 2012
As you can imagine, this blog has grown into a hungry beast that takes up a whole mess of my time. I can't help it, the train's barreling down the tracks at this point, out of my control.

I've tried to put the brakes on before and found out that like the hydra, you cut off its head and nine more grow back in its place.

I guess I just have to accept it and move forward. What can you do, I like to shpiel?

I got a neat post card and letter of introduction from a blog reader today who goes by the name of The Jolly Curmudgeon.  Jolly lives in Hakalau, Hawaii and says that he reads the blast faithfully, it is "chewing gum for his brain."

I appreciate being able to put a name on one of those recurring green stars on my map. Welcome Jolly, thank you for the kind words and I will take your musical suggestions to heart. I dig Frisell and the little bit of Buckethead I have heard.

Next I want to hear from those blast fans in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. I know you are reading, we definitely need to pow wow. Don't know much about the country except that the women are very tough, won't even get off their horses to give birth. That's some wicked strength. Love the barbecue.

Would be cool for more of you lurkers to step forward, disclose yourselves and chat. Thanks for reading.
