Mickey was an interesting character, a star athlete, a one time quarterback at the University of Wisconsin and a military man. He eventually went to work for Richfield Oil.

for me this points out the difference between the written and the spoken word, that is, i would never use a word like "cerebrate" in conversation, as it comes off as obtuse and ostentatious, whereas in writing i might.
