Things ain't so bad

With all the crap out there, maybe we need to look at some of the better stories that are happening in our world as we speak.

Who would believe that some of the Han Chinese are starting to embrace tibetan buddhism? Talk about Beijing's worst fears being realized. Read about it here. It's the equivalent of a spiritual stuxnet, a zen strike coming from the least likely direction.

Myanmar's recently released Nobel laureate Aung San Suu Kyi is actually commending the autocratic regime for making some small progress. That is truly wonderful. In recent months, the new government has eased censorship, legalized labor unions, suspended an unpopular, China-backed dam project and began talks with Suu Kyi's pro-democracy movement.

Kazakhstan is shunning nuclear weapons.

A bit dated, but cell phones might reverse Alzheimer's in mice. Just what we need, a bunch of know it all mice.

*
Jordan's King calls on Syria's Assad to step down.

New Zealand company LanzaTech is working on a microbe based technology that converts carbon monoxide laden syngas to fuel. Works on biomass as well, supposedly.
