American Tune - Eva Cassidy

KerryB sent this over and I will post it, sound unheard. I also got this letter from Kerry this morning which is cool and informative.

Remember when I said Ray Manzarek didn't play all the bass parts on The Doors albums ?

Of course he did play the bass parts on stage but, according to the 2006 remastered CDs liner notes, there is at least some bass guitar on all six studio albums.

On The Doors Larry Knechtel "doubles the piano bass lines" on some tracks ( Manzarek gets credit for playing organ, piano and "bass" ).

Strange Days credits Douglas Lubahn with "occasional bass".

On Waiting For The Sun; Leroy Vinegar plays stand up bass on 'Spanish Caravan'. Douglas Lubahn plays electric bass on the same track and is credited again for playing occasional bass. Kerry Magness plays bass on 'The Unknown Soldier'.

Soft Parade featured Harvey Brooks or Doug Lubahn on bass.

For Morrison Hotel Lonnie Mack plays bass on 'Roadhouse Blues' and 'Maggie McGill', Ray Neopolitan plays bass on other tracks.

Elvis Presley's bass guy Jerry Scheff plays on L.A. Woman ( Mark Benno from Leon Russel's Asylum Choir plays rhythm guitar on that album ).
