Jalalabad

My good friend and faithful blast reader Tracy sends these pictures over that she took north of Jalalabad while she worked with the Peace Corps in 1967. She lived there with her late ex husband. My post on Qatar triggered her memories.  These are the dancing boys of Tegari. Fascinating. Thanks for sharing Tracy!

Notice all the children  in the background..... but I was the only woman there.

They were proud to show off, and foreigners  made a  good audience.  It wasn't unusual to see two men riding their bicycles along while holding hands.

Check out the saddle shoes and jingle bell anklets.
