Tomorrow I start my semi annual trek to the Land of Enchantment. Two shows, Albuquerque and Santa Fe, boy are you going to miss me.
I want to get down to the Bosque de Apache preserve between the dates and get pictures of the incredible birdlife.
Other than that it will be my usual drunkenness and gluttony. I have fairly low expectations monetarily that will hopefully be wildly surpassed. It has happened before, you know?

Leslie and I saw a small mountain lion near the house about four days ago. I have seen less than ten in my life in the wild. It always amazes me the differences in color they exhibit. This one was pretty dark. Got an email from a neighbor that saw the cat this morning in Brian's bamboo. Needless to say we are keeping the house cat Nigel in the house. Although the cub is not much bigger than the kitty at this point.
It actually might be two cubs. An adult was shot in De Luz last week and it reportedly had two offspring. I would rather pay the ranchers and keep the mountain lions but people move into the country and expect the city and you know...So these little guys must now fend for themselves.
We have heard and felt the cat vibes for the last several weeks. The whole valley is on edge and you can hear it in the dog's barking. A neighbor two ranches down lost two goats week before last. Predators are an important part of the ecosystem.

Don't forget the Fallbrook Motor Fest August 7th that my wife has been working so hard on. Music, food and grog. Brett Stokes t-shirts. Motorcycles. Fun stuff.

Love to all my peeps,
