Fritz R.I.P.

I found out yesterday that Fritz had passed away. Heard he went to sleep and never woke up. Fritz was a fellow Moose member at the Fallbrook Moose Lodge #1992. A real character, and one of my favorite subjects for photography. He was the kind of guy who functioned best with just the right fuel oil mix in his bloodstream.

He was in one of the fuehrer's armies in the big war, maybe the Luftwaffe, but often told me how bad he felt about the whole deal and that they would have shot him if he had refused. I told him to forget about it. He tried to get into the local VFW but they said he had unfortunately been on the wrong side of the equation.

Fritz (Fred Lang) played the harmonica and squeezebox. I hardly ever understood a damn thing he said but he was certainly one of the guys. A good man. Very colorful.

AUF WIEDERSEHEN, FRITZ!
