Michelle Malkin displays her intellectual limitations...again.

Michelle Malkin's column this morning parrots many that conservative columnists have written over the last few days, illustrating the supposed double standard in media coverage between the death of George Tiller and murdered Army recruiter William Long.

A selection from her column:

Climate of hate, world of double standards

When a right-wing Christian vigilante kills, millions of fingers pull the trigger. When a left-wing Muslim vigilante kills, he kills alone. These are the instantly ossifying narratives in the Sunday shooting death of Kansas late-term abortionist George Tiller versus the Monday shootings of two Arkansas military recruiters.
Tiller’s suspected murderer, Scott Roeder, was white, Christian, anti-government, and anti-abortion. The gunman in the military recruiting center attack, Abdul Hakim Mujahid Muhammad, was black, a Muslim convert, anti-military, and anti-American. Both crimes are despicable, cowardly acts of domestic terrorism. But the disparate treatment of the two brutal cases by both the White House and the media is striking...

Now since when were Muslim extremists left wing? How does Malkin make this absurd nexus? Is this what passes for responsible journalism on the right? I personally think that Muslim extremists have much more in common with their kin on the Christian Right - you know, think our way or we'll shoot your ass. Long was an unfortunate soul who got blasted by a Muslim convert, not a crazed liberal. Tiller had been a target of the right for years, a premeditated murder, it was only a matter of time.

People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw rocks!

The tragedy in pointing out the intellectual failings of another, is that often times, our own weaknesses become more apparent.

The issue, the tremendous disaparity in reaction to the two killings, is completely overlooked in your commentary now and previously. Instead, of focusing on the debatable label of left-wing, the intellectual limitations or another commentator, the half baked idea of right wing hit lists, or other red herrings, perhaps you would be better to focus on why the Obama administration chose to immdiately comment on the death of a civilian abortion provider and was silent about the death of a military serviceman. Perhaps a fair minded review would have helped produce an insightful commentary on the Obama administration's zeal for whomever is in line with their political vision, and their absolute loathing of and neglect for citizens who do not agree with their world order.

All is not lost, another day will hopefully bring another posting from the Blue Heron. Perhaps we will read a fact based review of Obama's speech at Al-Azhar. Or, Geithner's account of his trip to China vs. the Chinese response in their newspapers. (Don't forget the reaction of the audience during his speech). Maybe a look at the Obama administration's idea of a VAT or the taxing of medical benefits. And when you can, please take a look at GM and how the UAW came out blushing like a new bride.

Thank you.

I always respect your reasoned tenor and thoughtful responses even though we rarely agree on anything! My point is, how does the right pin responsibility for a muslim killer on the left wing? Like the National Review guy who says that liberals want American soldiers to be killed. The suppositions are so absurd that all other arguments become moot. And I get so pissed that I can't let the allegations stand.

So now Obama isn't reacting the correct way in your eyes, he didn't condemn Long's murder fast enough, he wasn't nice enough to Nancy Reagan, he was too apologetic and balanced to the international community. Face it, you guys are mad, you want to lash out so you make these crazy tit for tat analogies about his behavior to condemn him at every opportunity. Sort of like what we did with Bush.

I have felt like my political voice has been wandering in the wilderness for the last two administrations. Kind of sucks, doesn't it. But that's the state of the political dynamic in America today, two siblings with diametric views that demonize each other and rule from narrow majorities. Add that to a cultural divide that sees the world so differently and you have a totally polarized electorate.

Obama has largely been a disappointment to me, but for the opposite reasons that you might dislike him. He has caved on warrant less wiretapping, mountaintop mining for coal, and countless other issues where he promised a break from his predecessors. He has been too accommodating. You should be happy he is such an appeaser. If my people were in, you would feel much worse. Thanks again for your post, masked man.
