Today is Leslie and my fifteenth anniversary of marriage. Picked her up at the airport this afternoon and we went out for dinner at a trendy joint on the water, Island Prime. View of the San Diego skyline was better than the food. Food good but not foodie good. Highlights of the meal were a great multi dimensional lobster appetizer and a seagull that flew outside our window with a small halibut and had his dinner on the concrete patio next to us. I am not going to go all Ruth Reichl on you and will spare you all the culinary details.
I am glad that my wife is home and hope that we are good for fifteen more years together (at least). My life isn't quite right or complete without her. I start moping and whistling that Police song - Bed's too big without you when she's gone.
Many of you were at the ranch for the wedding fifteen years ago. Time has flown but we've all remained friends. Lost a couple we loved along the way. I remember beautiful epiphyllum blooms all over the place, Silver Oak cabernet and a crabby Rabbi... Thanks Shawn, for helping get the place together those many moons ago.
