There's a nice article in today's New York times about the improved state of race relations in this country. Here's a link. Apparently, Obama's election has empowered many african americans with a newfound sense of pride. And they feel that white people are suddenly treating them with more respect. Although largely anecdotal, I have read several articles in the recent past that all auger well for the prospects of harmony and equality in this country. The negative is that stupid racist's ranks are swelling as well but I think that in the long run, nice will prevail.
