Rahsaan Roland Kirk - Volunteered Slavery

Loved this album in the 70's. Kirk was one of the hottest and funkiest reed players around. On flute, he put out some music that was quite the opposite, cool almost to the point of being mannered, but still very good. The unforgettable part for me was the way he played multiple instruments. Pretty impressive in itself, but he was able to do separate lines that were not just doubling pitches and rythyms. Just trying to think those lines at the same time made me dizzy! One of the great talents, all too little known.
